I have a large number of newspaper clippings, the titles of which begin with yyyy.mm.dd. When I do a search in DT, it brings up all appearances in these files but they are not in chronological order, which is sometimes important. I discovered a way to sort these files chronologically by accident: click on one file name, then click on the sort button at the top of the column. Bingo! They are all sorted chronologically. I don’t doubt that this is explained somewhere in the manual but I had no idea where to look.
My titles don’t begin with yyyy.mm.dd, but easily sort using columns with the metadata dates (added/created/modified)
If they don’t match the “document date”, it is possible to have an AplleScript review items which match that pattern and change their created and/or modified dates to match.
