I have the same DT database open on multiple devices (Mac and iPad)
Actually each device has it’s own copy of the database and data is sync’d between devices

Be aware of the lag in data syncing which could cause a problem if editing the same record

Yes, of course.
It is well documented and spoken of that you are not sharing a database between machines. Each Mac has its own copy of a database. Indeed, even DEVONthink To Go would have its own copy of the database on the mobile device.
