Unable to copy/paste pages between PDFs

Using DT3 (3.9.7) and MacOS Tahoe (26.0.1), I’m unable to paste individual pages of PDF in DT to another PDF that’s also in DT. In the past, I could right-click the thumbnail for a page in the thumbnail viewer on the right to copy the page and then right-click to paste it in the thumbnail viewer in another PDF. Both documents are of type “PDF+text”. When I just tried this on two newly imported documents, the option to paste the copied page is grayed out.

The current version is 3.9.16.

Thanks for the speedy reply. I prob should have updated before posting.

Ok just updated to 3.9.16 and restarted DT and I’m still unable to copy/paste pages between PDFs.

Is it possible at all to modify the destination PDF, e.g. to annotate it or to delete pages?

Doesn’t look like either are possible. It’s almost like they’re “locked”. And I confirmed other older documents seem unimpacted by this. If it helps to know, I added both of these docs via Preview > File > Share > Add to DT.

Either the PDF is encrypted or the PDF is read-only as editing it might corrupt the text layer (due to PDFkit issues). You could enable the hidden preference ForceEditablePDFs, see help.

For some reason it seems like this was caused by sharing from within Preview to DT. When I save the PDF locally and drag that into DT it worked fine. Thanks again for the speedy help.
