I experience a strange behaviour in sheets (TSV document). It happens frequently that the column width changes to something absolutely undesirable like one column using 50% of the whole sheet.
A simple example: I have date1, time1, date2, time2 and a text column (used for recording support times with my clients). The dates and time have to be as small as possible, while the text should be as wide as the sheet allows. The width of the first time column ALWAYS switches to about 50% of the sheet’s size after some time when working in it, while the other columns stay unchanged. Sometimes even the sorting of the columns changes to something like date1, Text, time1, time2, date2 and I have to reformat everything again.
Does anyone know why and how to change that behaviour?
Modify content without finishing, so the cell remains “open” because
the phone rings and I have to fend off the insurance broker spam. Then go back to the sheet a minute later.
Drat! The cell widths have changed AGAIN
Right NOW the changes are different from the opening post. Instead of enlarging one column it just resets the first 4 columns to a default size.
When I close the sheet, the sorting of the lines changes to I don’t know what (although still showing that I sort by “Datum von”), but in the preview the column widths are exactly as I wanted them.
It’s on the local SSDs of the computers in a folder that is shared via kDrive (Cloud).
DEVONthink is used on one Mac at a time. The Macs are in two different offices and are running 24/7. The Databases are always open on both. I switch between them frequently (Teammviewer or Splashtop) but don’t work on the same sheet simultaneously.
