Using a Group Tag in DTG3 Causes double tag on document

Hi folks! I don’t know if this is a bug, but… Something interesting happened today. I added a document to DTG3 on iOS and it went into my Inbox. I tagged it with “Manuals” which is a GROUP used as a TAG in my database. When I dropped the file into the “Manuals” Group/Folder, it was tagged with “Manuals” twice. (e.g. Manuals, Manuals).

I was wondering about using tags in DTG to move files from inboxes to database folders automagically, but it would seem that may not be a good idea.

Any guidance or insight is appreciated.

Thanks,
Rob

No, it’s not a bug. In fact, it’s the logical outcome of what you did.
Why are you using group tags then manually adding a tag with the same name as the group? I’m curious: What did you expect would happen?

Also, ordinary tags (teal) are distinguished from group tags (grey)…

I think I was hoping that if I tagged a file in the inbox with the group name tag it would move there automagically.

That kind of thing is only possible in DEVONthink on the Mac (and it produces replicants). It may be in a future release but certainly not a 3.x one.
