Using External Files added through DEVONThink Mac

In DEVONThink for Mac I’m able to preview external files.
If I add an OmniOutliner file or a mindnode file I’m able to see it within DEVONThink and it’s text is searchable through DEVONThink as well.

In iOS this does not work. There is no internal file preview. I imagine that this is because of iOS limitations in terms of files.

Is there any suggestions in how to achieve this functionality in iOS? I know I can create a link and have it open externally but this is not what I’m looking for.

That’s correct, on the Mac DEVONthink uses the Spotlight plugins of OmniOutliner and Quick Look. Both options are not available on iOS, therefore the document can neither bei previewed nor be indexed.
