Using Hierarchy in v4 versus v2

In my current v2, all notes/files/clippings are children of the original group/folder.

I cannot create/organize notes of those children notes, ie something like a hierarchy of bullet points.

Did this limitation change in v3 or v4?

TIA

It’s not clear to me what you mean. In DT, there are databases, which can contain groups. Groups can contain other groups as well as records, and databases can contain records on their top level, ie outside any group.

So yes, you can have a hierarchy (of groups). And you can transclude files into Markdown documents. Which can me considered to be a kind of hierarchy of records.

But perhaps you could post a screen shot and some explaning text to clarify what you’re after.

Did you get my response to your support ticket?

Many thanks.

Within a database, I have groups (sorry I call them folders because that is what their icon looks like to me). In those main/first level groups I then create more specific groups.

Within those I want to have a list I can see/read of a bunch of documents, notes related to that group (topic). Sometimes those documents need to be arranged in a hierarchy and I don’t seem able to do this.

Relatedly, when creating a new group within an existing group I select “New Group” where I need that to be placed but it always “appears” someplace else… sometimes at the bottom of a higher group, at the bottom of the whole first level group. Is there a way to not have to go hunting it down and moving it to where I need it. Again, perhaps this was solved in v3 or v4.

Thanks again.

Found one this AM; just found the second (yours?) now.

Answered.

Excellent - just what I needed to know. I’ll reply in short order there.

Sorry, if you’re talking about v2, I can’t help you. Never used that. Perhaps @BLUEFROG knows more about that.
