V3.9.2 Cannot load databases

I recently had a HD crash on MacOS 10.15 Catalina. Restored from Time Machine, but I cannot open any of my databases. The Sync preferences/data is also missing. What is the best way to address this situation?

[UPDATE] The databases that will open are those that were not set to sync. So they are local.

Is the solution to just download the databases from the cloud via the sync preferences?

What exactly did you restore?

And sync is not the first place you should be looking in this instance. It’s not a backup, as has been said many times.

I had gone to the local home folder where the original databases were restored from Time Machine, but they would not open. I also tried opening from within the app.

I removed the files from this local location, and then downloaded the database from the REMOTE section. Is this not how I should do it? How else might I address this?

While it may work, this isn’t the advocated method.

How else might I address this?

I’d say it’s pretty important to determine why the databases from your backups didn’t open. I’d hazard a guess it’s a permissions issue.

Was there any visual prompt when you tried to open them?

Nothing whatsoever. Just a flash of likely the activity window for a microsecond and then back to initial screen. How else to approach this?

Only the synced databases didn’t open. The other local ones did. (non-synced)

How do you fix the permissions?

Synced databases are not stored externally. All you databases are stored in the local machines, whether they’re synced or not.

Understood. Thank you.
