I’m new user to Devonthink. Not familiar with the meaning of the key next to the name of the database. When I export the database to back it up the new one does not have it.

The key next to a database’s name in the Navigate sidebar indicates it’s an encrypted database.
And that’s correct. Creating a database archive creates a ZIP of the database itself, not the encrypted volume on which it’s located.
