yea, when I highlight using the colors I assigned it works. When i change it from the ones i assigned to the context menu from devonthink (because i decided to change it from important to not important etc), they change. I believe the context menu has different colors because even the icons look darker. This doesn’t happen in other apps like pdf expert
As mentioned, the row of colors in the contextual menu of a PDF are from PDFKit, not DEVONthink.

And while it would be cool if highlights could be changed retroactively when adjusting the Preferences > Colors, that would require an enormous amount of overhead and likely largely increasing the amount of metadata in the index of a database.
