Where are my files?

I have been using DT for a long time and my Main Database had a size of > 6 GB.

After moving to a new Mac I transferred my “old” Database and converted it to the new format of DT3 (ending dtBase2).

Everything works fine, I can see all my files within DT and add to the Database as well. However, in finder the size of the “new” database is only 1,25 GB now. This cannot be.

The question for me is: Where are all my files (99% pdfs) hidden on my machine?

  1. There is no conversion to DEVONthink 3 as the database’s format hasn’t changed.
  2. The size of the database in the Finder is not indicative of the contents of the database. It also includes the internal metadata and the metadata backups.
    I would guess you had a high number of backups in DEVONthink 2.x. In version 3, there are only two.
  3. Do a File > Verify & Repair on the database to ensure it’s healthy.
