Which book is more recommended: Arbeitsbuch or Take Control?

For the bilinguals who are happy with German or English: Which book is the better choice:

Arbeitsbuch DevonThink or Take Control DevonThink?

Which one is more comprehensive? And do they have different focus?

No one has responded to this yet, so I shall make a partial attempt. I cannot make a comparison, because I have not read Arbeitsbuch DevonThink, but I think that the Take Control series in general (now under new ownership) and Take Control of DevonThink in particular are both reliable and (if you make sure to download the latest edition) up-to-date. Joe Kissel, the author of the DT book and now the publisher also, is clearly a fan of DevonThink and explains most of its wrinkles and procedures well. In my view the book is particularly useful when it deals with procedures that make use of relatively recently added functionality, such as syncing between DT and DevonThink To Go. It is also very good on the differences between the behaviours of duplicates and replicants. (I believe that Joe wrote the book with the assistance of the DT developers.)

However I also strongly recommend working your way through the entirety of the DT User Guide (if you haven’t already), probably before you read either of the books you ask about. Understandably, it contains fine detail which the Take Control book, at least, does not have in comprehensive form.

The books have a slightly different focus. Joe Kissell, the author of the Take Control book, is very good in structuring complex subjects for everyone. The Arbeitsbuch DEVONthink is a bit less an introduction but more like a missing (German) manual.

Both books, however, are less a documentation (like the documentation that comes with DEVONthink) but a book that you can read to learn how to use the software.

Thanks for all feedback about the books. Meanwhile I looked at the sample chapters of both books and I like Take Control DevonThink a bit better: It is more about the concepts than about menu items, I think.
