I have three databases in DTPO.
Two databases named “Office” and “Privat” are open.
The third database named “Testdatenbank” is closed, also in category Used databases.
When I click in sidebar on “Testdatenbank” it show the folder from “Office” or “Privat”, depending in which database I have work before.
If I made something wrong, sorry.
But I think thats not good behavior of the app.
Better way it show the right folder or a message (1) in sidebar that this database is closed at moment.
(1) Suggestion -> The content is not available at moment.
Personally I would prefer DTP to just open the database when you click on its name in sidebar sections used or favorites as the finder does when you put a database into its sidebar.
Second best would be some kind of message as suggested. But the message should be more clear: “The database is closed. Double click the name to open it.” Or even better: give the standard infos about the database (Name, size, last opened etc.) and provide a button “open Database”.
I would too…if my fingers were not so fat and clumsy!
Some databases take a while to open (e.g., databases with lots of feeds that get updated or those that have scripts attached) and a single-click to open one by mistake would get old real fast.
