Aliases of folders added to te Custom folder of XMenu does not work as expectet. The aliaes show up as generic documents and the arrows to show the content of the folders are missing.
XMenu is not yet fully compatible to Yosemite but an update will be available soon.
The release of version 1.9.8 of X menu solved the problems.

Biggest drawback I see with XMenu is that the current clipboard is replaced by the snippets (when using that functionality), but guess that might be how it is supposed to be (as I had not used this service before using Yosemite).
Yep, that’s how it works. The data has to pass through somewhere. :^)
