A Proposal for the Integration of DEVONthink and ChatGPT API

… and if we are not creating reality, then we are living in a simulation. Here’s the simulation proof if you haven’t been informed yet, which is why I said it’s important to open the window wide enough to see what’s really going on. If you can’t understand both sides, then it’s hard to know where you actually stand.

And I quote from the paper…

This paper argues that at least one of the following propositions is true…

Perhaps I misunderstand your wording, *“Here’s the simulation proof” but this does not constitute proof. It is a hypothesis, an argument, an opinion. I guarantee you can find other papers, editorials, Reddit threads, etc. with proof to the contrary.

However, I think we are straying far from the path now.

If we’re simulated, then so is anything telling us that we are. Which begs the question why a simulation would tell us that we’re simulated.

This is all utter nonsense, just someone’s hallucinations. Which may mean that it’s an AI we’re talking about.

This is a pretty good implementation of a knowledge base. You can upload documents and then it will give you references for any questions you ask. If DT would have this type of system available for my notes it might be interesting. Just a user interface idea.

This is one of the good arguments against AI, but good humans know this and will still use their time on things that are interesting to them. The other non-interesting things they choose to delegate to the AI wouldn’t have been something they would have even attempted. So while it is a good argument, he’s wrong, because they will develop skills where it matters to them.

“I want AI to do my laundry and dishes so that I can do art and writing, not for AI to do my art and writing so that I can do my laundry and dishes.” – Joanna Maciejewska

The issue is that the people actually doing the work and developing the skills aren’t the ones deciding where AI will be used. The people paying them are. If a corporation decides that an AI can do a “good enough” job to replace the marketing department, a whole lot of people are going to be out of work.
Which has a ripple effect, given the numbers of writers and artists who use relatively lucrative corporate work to support their less lucrative passion projects.

Yes, but money is free/an illusion. We can just pay those people a universal income or else they can find something else to do on the side to manage their real interests.

I solved my time wasting differently. I only eat raw beef, so I don’t have any dishes to do and I no longer stink because I eliminated all other foods, so I don’t even bother with laundry. That way, I’m not polluting your water with microplastics from the fibers in my clothing. If they would let me walk around naked, I wouldn’t even bother with the clothes. If I do need to wash I use salts and raw eggs. And of course, since I don’t eat plants/fruits, I don’t have any tooth decay and no need to brush my teeth.

Have no fear. The AI has begun to write and run its own software, so that means that we can imagine it will be able to use APIs that are part of any robot or machine. Once those two are connected, we won’t need the people anymore or perhaps rarely for specialized situations where the robots get stuck or we get a blue screen. People can all go to the beach or else flip through facebook and porn like they do today in most jobs.

I am expecting that I will have a robot that will handle the care and feeding of my cows without needing pesticides or imported grains. It will walk the cows through the fields, making sure they eat where they should and require no deforestation, leaving the nature in place. No more tractors. Just animals grazing and being managed by the robots. Problems that the robot cannot handle can be sent to a human until a robot can be trained in those areas. It will identify the weeds that are growing and be able to analyze the soil quality and thereby let the animals graze where it is healthy soil and let the unhealthy soil recover without using pesticides.

When I am hungry, I will ask for what I want and it will be caught, killed, cut up, packaged, and delivered.

It’s easy to see that at one point we had some amazing technology and I’m looking forward to us finding it again because clearly this current world where we live is a joke in terms of humans being capable. We are lucky if we can even find somebody to build us a decent house, let alone software they want to use, and currently doing laundry and farming are beyond our abilities but I am hopeful… And to live in a really beautiful zero energy stone monument or star fort like we see all over the Earth on Google maps would be a dream. Can you imagine having that much space and it all being maintained just for you? I can. The lucky few that are left to live that life are going to be in peace, that’s for sure.

At least until the “The Machine Stops” by E.M. Forster again.

As this thread has drifted faaaaaarrrrrrr outside its original thesis, it’s time to close it.
