Cannot share PDFs from Safari to DTTG anymore

I don’t understand.
What shall this image proof?

I can share PDFs to any and all Apps from Safari!
Only DTTG has this problem …

The image proves it’s not something we control.

Again… my screen capture is in IOS 16.3.1 - so my device is up to date.
And look at the options missing, blurred and greyed out and inaccessible. I didn’t edit the screen capture. That’s how it appears and I’ve been seeing it quite often in a variety of settings. So it doesn’t matter if DEVONthink To Go is the target or not. The issue shown here is from the Share menu in Safari.

Did you even watch my initial video?

The Share sheet looks totally normal to me and I can share without problems - only not to DTTG!

And if the above is right, this comes from a framework used for DTTG, that does not work anymore.
So this can only be fixed by either the developers of this framework or by DEVONTechnologies - from my understanding.

Did I missunderstand something?

I am loosing motivation to write again …
Still don’t understand the low interest.

Let’s just wait if it get’s fixed or not.
:expressionless:

EDIT: To be honest, initially I only expected a “Oh damn, that’s bad - we need to fix that! Thanks for the information!” or something similar :frowning:

You’re assuming that it is something DT can control, though the evidence for that is at best anecdotal. In my experience, if it’s something they can fix, they do fix it. If not, they can’t. Therefore, some moderation might be advised.

@tja, I’ve watched your initial video and it seems as if either Clip to DEVONthink crashed on the launch ramp (our problem) or it is actually killed by iOS for whatever reasons iOS finds. Memory consumption is a candidate. How large is the PDF in question? Maybe you could share the URL with @BLUEFROG so we can check it here ourselves. And what kind of device do you use?

Thanks.

It happens on any PDF, of any size - also when sharing a website over the option “PDF” as a PDF to DTTG.

Even the empty site https://google.com shared as PDF to DTTG shows this behavior.
When I save this as a PDF file, it has 45 kB

In the video I did the same with the start page of devontechnologies.com

If you happen to own any other tiny PDF, I can test this for you!
Of course, I also tried the DTTG PDF manual from your site, which was the original reason why I started this thread - I just wanted to add the latest docs to my database.

It happens on all of my devices, which all are at iPadOS 15.7.2 or iOS 15.7.3:

iPhone 6s
iPad Pro 9.7
iPad Air 3
iPad Pro 12.9 2nd gen.

I am eager to avoid 16.x for now, as I read about performance problems with older devices.
But as we read above, also 16.x seems to be affected.

The issue you’re having isn’t the same as the issue I’m having in iOS 16.

I’m not seeing your particular problem in iOS 16.

What happens when you don’t change the capturing option to PDF? You would still have the option to choose PDF with our clipping extension.

I was referring to

and

Both of which mentioned problems with 16.x

For a website, this does not convert the website to PDF first, but let’s DTTG convert the website to PDF. So this is not the same result, from what I remember - but yes, this works!

For a PDF open in Safari, the same result: A short dimming …

What URL for the PDF?

Any.

For example:
