Hi, Is Devon Agent included with Pro. I have purchased Pro, but where and how do i find and register this application? Thanks

If you are referring to DEVONthink 3 Pro, no DEVONagent Pro is not included. It is a separate application and purchase.

Yes i have DEVONthink 3 Pro and i have just received the ‘Back to school’ newsletter from DEVONtechnologies where it states that DEVON Agent is included with Pro. My question is how can i get this application registered because i’m keen to try it. I have downloaded the Express version but it is counting down my searches and is not registered. I have tried to find clear instructions but the video is silent and the help files useless, any help would be appreciated. Thanks

DEVONagent Express is included as a menu extra in DEVOnagent Pro (See Preferences > Menu Extra).
DEVONagent Pro is not included with DEVONthink 3 Pro. They are two separate applications.

I seem to remember when I purchased DEVONthink 2, Devonagent came with it for free

DEVONagent was never part of DEVONthink for free but both were sold as a bundle in the old shop.

If it’s any consolation, I too misread that DEVONagent Express was included with Devonthink Pro.

“DEVONagent Express is included in Pro” sounded pretty clear to me. But apparently it is NOT included with DEVONthink Pro 3. Maybe some re-wording required here to avoid confusion?

It certainly is included in DEVONagent Pro. Open it via the Preferences > Menu Extra.

I think @James1 has a point. “DevonAgent Express is included in Pro” is confusing because DevonTech has two different “Pro” products.

I downloaded the DEVONagent Pro APP but it wouldn’t work without typing in a License No., which I didn’t have. I ended up purchasing the APP, got the required license number and it worked fine after that. After the fact I read from Jim to "Open it via Preferences > Menu Extra. I searched every menu and was never able to find either Preferences or Menu Extra. I started by searhing the DEVONthink Pro “Help” but it was of no help. It would make sense that going to the DEVONthink Pro “HELP” section would reveal clear instructions on how to activate DEVONagent Pro (wouldn’t it?).

Why? They’re different applications.

DevonAgent Pro → Settings → Menu Extra has the options for DevonAgent’s menu bar icon. One of those options is DevonAgent Express.

I have installed for DEVONagent Express and afterwards I purchased DEVONagent Pro therefore now I have those two apps. If I uninstall DEVONagent Express, will it impact at all the DEVONagent Pro environment?

While it may be technically permissible, no I would not recommend this, especially not messing about with sudo and definitely not with rm.
Just go into the /Applications directory and move the application to the system Trash.
