I have purchased DEVONthink pro license. Desktop app works well and I have set up synchronization using iCloud (CloudKit). DEVONthink To Go is installed but having issues; Sync is also set-up, but it is not synching and app loses license after restarting.
discussed already
I have downloaded the latest update and DTTG 4.02 still does not sync over CloudKit. I canāt even see a list of my databases. I can verify them thatās all.
Is there a warning triangle on the activity icon in the bottom toolbar?
Bottom toolbar where. I have three panes visible and no warning triangle in any of them. In the first pane I select the icon with tree dots and select sync. Nothing happens
I restarted the device and yes now there is a warning triangle in the bottom toolbar in the middle pane. I still can verify thoroughly just fine but no sync.
Have you licensed the app? Have you tried an alternative method just as a test about synching, e.g. Bonjour? Could it be Appleās CloudKit misbehaving?
The app is licensed as Pro and I am logged on to my Devontechnologies account. Both macs sync well using cloudkit so itās not that.
Has anyone got this app to sync via cloudkit?
I am syncing via CloudKit without issues. I did reboot my iPad after installing 4.0.2
Good to hear. Do you have encrypted databases on the mac that are syncing with the ipad?
No. My databases are all ānormalā. No encryption keys.
Encrypted databases have no bearing on if you can sync.
What is reported in DEVONthinkās Window > Log?
I have now got this to work. I rebooted the iPad and set up the sync location again and itās now working as it should. Thank you for your help.
Youāre welcome.
As a reminder: we recommend rebooting devices at least once a week, both Mac and mobile. It definitely can help keep things running more smoothly.
Iām syncing with CloudKit encrypted databases and had issues after upgrading to DTTG4. I reported them on another thread.
The issue was that although my databases were «present» displaying all items, I could not download any on IOS. I found that the syncstore had disappeared from my sync settings. When I re-created it, there was strange behaviors, the sync store was duplicated and it took much time to synchronize. But finally it worked. I did it slowly, database by database and device by device (iphone and ipad).
They told me that there was a bug in version 4.01 and that 4.02 was on the trail.
As soon as it was published on the App Store, I updated. It still works well but the duplicated sync store is still present. I didnād see an option to remove it, just to Ā«cleanĀ», which I did on my iphone, with the store that was uncheked. Result was a complete re-sync with the other checked store.
Maybe another update will help remove the unecessary sync store.
Remove the duplicate sync store.
Yes. I missed the button up to remove it.
So use to have a delete option in the local menu than I didnāt realze it was that simple.
Sorry. But Apple is changing all the time the interface. Now the search is at the bottom when before it was on top.
Another small thing happened is that the āinboxā item from DT pro 3 remained in the Finder sidebar.
I had to reveal to seee that it was the onbos from version 3. So I removed it and found the version 4 inbox in the application support that I added to the sidebar.
And one question: As version 3 was labeled 3 and nos it is only DEVONthink, that means that I can remodev everything which has 3 in its name and, in the future, there will be only one DEVONthink folder updated with each version ?
If you want instructions for a deeper cleaning of 3, open a support ticket. Do not run an uninstaller application.
And yes, version numbers mean less so weāve made under-the-hood changes to allow better past and future compatibility from version 4 forward.
Iām afraid I saw your message a bit late.
But I did not run an uninstaller.
Juste deleted the DEVONthink 3 folder in Application Support.
The DEVONthink folder (related to v4) had more or less the same content.
Still working great. Thanks.
