Formating a Note as Template

Hi,

I’m trying to set up a common Note template for taking notes on books/journals. That is, I’d like a form which looks something like this:

Page(s):
Date:
Notes:

Now, I’ve found the following exchange (Create my own template?) and I have tried to follow the method but when I create a new note (which I’ve called NoteCard) it still comes up blank. The template has been saved in the relevant Library folder and I’ve quit DTPO and reopened, but no change.

There is, no doubt, a simple solution to this problem, but I can’t work out what I’m doing wrong. Any suggestions?

After you’ve entered the content of the new note, and before you export it as a template, press Command-S to save the content to disk. :slight_smile:

Was the first file you created (i.e., the template) a Rich Text document?

This should work:

  1. Data > New > Rich Text
  2. Create your table – Format > Table
  3. File > Export > As Template… – you will need to navigate to ~/Library/DEVONthink Pro 2/Templates and save the document there

Just double checked and this process is working as expected here.
