My DT screens have suddenly begun to show the circular refresh symbol next to the global inbox every few seconds. This also happens next to the individual database inboxes in sequence. It is really distracting as the dark numbers next to the inboxes jump about every time to make way for the symbol. It’s as though they are connecting to something too often. I’ve never noticed this in DT3, seemed to start in DT4. Is there a way to disable the connection they are using? I’ve removed the clip to Devonthink browser extension in case they were checking to pull from that but it’s still happening.
Instead of trying to disconnect it, why don’t you try to see what may be causing it? Have you looked at Window > Log? And what are your sync settings?
Do you have any sync service configured?
@Metalman I understand what you are saying. In my case, it is the opposite, deeply reassuring, that my sync services are working.
HI thanks for replying. Log window is clear on both desktop and laptop. Sync is set to automatic. All db’s are local stores on a Qnap NAS. Apart from this everything is a sweet as a nut!
You can set the interval to a longer timeframe if it bothers you this much. In fact, we blogged about this recently…

Yes that seems to have cured it thank you. Funny how it never happened in DT3? I have had sync on Auto since DT 2.8.6 but never experienced this before… how odd
