Indexed files are duplicated

I’ve been using DT Personal for a while now to index the PDFs and other files that I attach to items in Zotero; I did this by just having DT index my Zotero folder. Everything had been working smoothly until recently, when I noticed that all of my indexed files from Zotero are duplicated. I know that this is not happening on Zotero’s end because the files point to the same exact path (in Zotero’s file system, each file gets its own folder with a unique string, i.e. AF37E5CM), and DT also knows that the file is a duplicate because the duplicate icon is displayed next to it.

I would really like to resolve this issue but I’m afraid I do not know where to start. Does anyone have any suggestions?

My first guess would be that you’re Syncing and it’s set to Duplicate documents in DEVONthink’s Preferences > Sync.
