Invalid Encryption Key on Webdav

So if I uninstall, (Retain the DB in it’s current location) and then reinstall DT, do I have to import the entire remote DB again? Because that’s the only thing yet to try!

(Retain the DB in it’s current location)

? Retaining the database where?

And uninstalling how?

Leaving the local DB in it’s current directory. Deleting and removing all signs of DT and starting again?

If there is a local copy of the database - and there should be - there would be no need to reimport the database from the sync location. However, if you uninstall and re-establish a sync then yes, there would be transactional data sent back and forth to the sync location.

Hmm… OK. Well. Unless you have a reason on why this is happening, I am at a loss.

So… very interesting. It appears it is syncing some things, but not others. I have some files turning up, but the status in the Preferences window still gives a last sync date as 2 days go. And time out still happening.

It just gets strange by the day!

Are the files indexed or imported?

I don’t understand the question? What do you mean?

From testing and file counting at each end, it appears files at Site B (here) are not being sent, but files at Site A are being received by site B.

Are the files in the database imported, I.e., copied into the database, or indexed from a location outside the database?

Everything gets dragged and dropped into DT

And yours is the only remote machine?
The others are on the same network, correct?

Yep!

Although I have tried with a VPN to be on the same network.

Hold the Option key and choose Help > Report bug to start a support ticket to discuss something off to the side.

OK… Some further monitoring has shown some interesting facts.

It appears that I am getting documents synced to me, but there are apparently 2 here that will not sync back. When we look at the DB properties for all 3 machines, there are 2 extra files in mine, as apposed to the others.

Everything else appears to be syncing. Is there a way that I can find out what files are trying to sync but have not? Is there some sort of log, or somewhere that can show what these 2 files are?

If you hold the Option key and choose Help > Report bug, the Console and Sync logs are in the draft email

Yep! Have sent that!

I am trying to work out what is NOT being sent to remote site from here. Looks like 2 files. Maybe one of them is holding up the show?

So here is another update for you all… My problems continue.

I took the painstaking approach of moving everything over to my Synology NAS, running WebDav, and it worked for 3 days. Now it’s failing to sync correctly - AGAIN!

The situation now is 2 of the 3 machines sync fine. But one machine does not.

So you get an understanding, let’s name then Mac1, Mac2 and Mac3.

Mac1 and Ma2 all sync fine. They can send and receive documents that are added to the Dabatase.

Ma3 can GET the files added by Mac1 and Mac2, but anything that Mac3 adds to the Database, does not get synced with the other 2. And there is no warning, no errors! So we have to be constantly checking. And I guess, lucky we did, or our data could get so out of sync it would be impossible to get bet back!

The amount of time I have spent on this is crazy! But we are so invested in this system, that it will make it insanely difficult to move to another solution, but I think DT has finally proved itself to be an unreliable solution (with regards to syncing via WebDav) It obviously is just not mature enough to remain reliable. :frowning:

Go to your NAS, log as administrator, open File Station, go to shared folder were you have the WebDAV database and check how many root folders do you have. Same name but different upper/lower case?
