Surprisingly, Fujitsu now has reversed its policy and again supports older ScanSnap models under MacOS Catalina, such as my ScanSnap S1500M. This newly released a 64-bit ScanSnap Manager can be downloaded here: https://scansnap.fujitsu.com/global/ssmanagerv7/

What is truly shocking is that they have revived support for the S510M as well! I ended up buying VUEScan so I could continue to use it. The new ScanSnap Manager plugs into DEVONthink as well. So pleased to see this!
