If your router such as the new Airport can broadcast simultaneously at different speeds and as a “guest network” Before setting up the sync, especially if you had a restart, double check that all the computers are really on the same subsystem network. Either Click on the fan icon or the network system icon, and verify the network speed connection. Otherwise the Bonjour port setting may not bee the same after the restart and you are sitting there holding your iPad and nothing is happening. Go back to the master say the power mac and as the instructions say delete the port number and let the computer decide. On the “slave” macbook pro, check the network fan icon to ensure that the router has not changed the network selection back to default 2.4.
The same goes for the i-pad.
Once the network and port issue are confirmed, the sync should go exactly as in the Tutorial
