Item count not appearing next to smart group in tree

I have the following smart group: [Screenshot 2021-12-03 at 16.24.15] But as you can see from the screenshot below, unlike the other smart groups, it does not show an item count. “Books” should have a 1 next to it (one item appears in the main window when you click that smart group).
