Small typo in help/manual

From page 24 of the (ever excellent) manual:

Page 325 and 326 of dt4.0b manual, the domain should be com.devon-technologies.think, not com.devon-technologies.think3.

Thank you!

Thanks. Fixed for the next release.

Small typo on page 16 of the manual, I think:

Thank you, good sir!

At the risk of being tedious and pedantic, from page 22 of the manual:

The apostrophe should be before the "s”. :face_with_peeking_eye:

Edit:
And on page 28 shouldn’t be there at all:

Ah, the joys of apostrophes. In the first case – how to express the possessive of groups? Would one write groups's? Hopefully not groups'es.
I’d probably go for a different wording, something like “As you add files to a group, they have the name of this group assigned as a tag.”

Also, the link Groups in the first sentences does not seem to lead to a section related to groups.

FYI
group’s name. (The apostrophe is if you said “name of group”).
the apostrophe is also used for missing letters. So let’s is “Let us” which is not right here. In this case it is “lets”.

Thanks, I was aware of that.

My question remains: What is the possessive of groups. For “the names of groups”, would I write “the groups’ names” or “the groups’s names”?

“The groups’ names.” …s’s is only used with a singular ending in s (“the boss’s husband”, “Jobs’s keynote”). With proper names the s is optional, though preferred when the terminal s of the name is aspirated.

I would use groups’.

Edit: I think I may try to stay clear of more apostrophe comments!

For a plural you don’t need the second “s” so “the groups’ names” is the right one here.

UK English is a mashup of Latin, Norman French, Saxon - basically the language from any one who stomped all over us! Long words in English generally derive from the French (e.g. Decoration from décoration). Short words often come from Saxon/Norse/Vikings. And then there is a few bits of Latin (e.g. sinister meaning threatening from Latin “sinister” for on the left hand side). It is why it is so hard for people to learn as it is all over the place :slightly_frowning_face:

Hmm… I’m seeing it jump to the Getting Started > DEVONthink Simplified > Groups subsection.

@et al: Thanks for the continuing reports. I appreciate the assistance as I refine and polish the help over the beta period.
