Hi all, I’m a very long-time user of DT, possibly going back to version 1 but definitely v2 and v3. I’m considering upgrading to v4, but I don’t honestly know if I have a need for it or not. I don’t believe that I have a need for the AI features, and though I’ve read the list of new features, I’m not sure if I need them either. I’m not using DT nearly as much or as often as I once did.
I’m curious, what new features do you like/love the most, and how are you using them? What were the reasons that you upgraded, other than loving and wanting to continue to support Devontechnologies?
If you want to upgrade to support the developers, that’s a good reason.
If you’re satisfied with the features of DT3 and don’t need or want to use AI, you can wait.
You can upgrade at any time. Don’t follow the principle of “solution seeks problem.” Instead, follow the principle of “problem seeks solution.” That means: if you’re missing something specific, ask here whether DT4 can do it. That would be a good reason for an upgrade.
As I said, this is my personal opinion, which others are free to disagree with
I don’t use any of the AI facilities, yet with V4 I have never been so productive. It is not necessarily about the big items but the little improvements.
