Black Friday Weekend

Today people across the United States celebrate Thanksgiving. Families and friends come together, share dinner, and reflect on the past year. And they say thank you for all the good things that happened. If you are celebrating Thanksgiving in your part of the world, can you already smell the delicious and hearty aromas and feel the inviting coziness?

As it’s the tradition now, Thanksgiving is followed by Black Friday, when many shops and manufacturers offer their products at a discount. Do you need a license or another seat? Or have you been waiting for the right time to upgrade to DEVONthink 4? Here it is! From Black Friday through Cyber Monday, we offer 25 percent discount on all our software products, upgrades, extensions, and ebooks on our website and in the App Store. Just add them to your cart. The discount will be automatically applied this weekend.

Our traditional Black Friday offer starts Thursday, November 27th, 2025, 6 p.m. UTC, and ends Tuesday, December 2nd, 2025, at 9 a.m. The App Store follows its own schedule. The discount also applies to update extensions, but raises the early-bird discount for two- and three-year renewals to a maximum of 25 percent. The Black Friday discount cannot be combined with other offers such as the students & educators discount and does not include App Store subscriptions. Please see our Business Principles for more on how we do promotions.

I think there may be an issue with the BF discount if you’re an EDU customer.

When I go into my portal, I see the price of $74,95 USD to upgrade (which is about $105 CAD), but on the checkout page, the total inc. tax is $160 CAD, which is about 45-50$ CAD too much.

I’m also experiencing the same issue when I want to extend my license, the upgrade page told me the price will be $74.75, but at the final checkout page, the price will go back to $99.

As we sell world-wide, sales tax, VAT, etc. is added in the cart and depending on your home country.

This seems to be an issue with a recent fix. We’re working on it.

And fixed. Please empty your cart and put the extension into the cart again.

:folded_hands:t2:  to you as well

I took advantage of the 25% discount. Paid $157 with taxes to extend it another two years. For some reason it created a new account but sure Jim & the team will fix that when back after the Holidays next week. Already had paid to 2029 but now until 2031. Not a big fan of subscription so this is the way to cheat myself it is not a subscription. Just downloaded the new iOS app and must say - fantastic! Worth every penny. Think my first experience with DevonTHINK was 2015 so celebrating 10 years with the app I use most.

Will the old early bird special be coming back after Black Friday? Just wondering if it makes sense to wait (I must admit I was hoping for a combination of the 2 discounts, in my wildest dreams …)?

Thanks!

Yes, this will continue afterwards.

Hi, I purchased an upgrade from 3 to 4 - I had 2 seats but it was clear if the upgrade was for 1 seat or 2 seats. I concluded I needed to by another seat. And now I have 3 seats and I only need 2 seats.

Both purchasing and upgrading includes two seats by default. If you don’t need the third seat, then please contact sales - at - devon-technologies.com to request a refund.

Oh wow ! I didn’t know you can also get an extension ahead of time.

I don’t see it in the store. Is there a link to extension only ? (If I’m existing DT customer and has a valid license)

I also extended my license, which I started in April. This one got elongated after the release of the final version in June, but now after adding another year, the end date is back to April instead of June.

Has anyone else seen this?

You have to log into your customer account and choose the license that you would like to extend.

This is likely a computation error on our side. We will be looking into this shortly.

Yep, I see the same thing.

I bought an upgrade (DT3 to DT4) - this worked well. Then I wanted to pack an updates extension on top of it.

I think it discounts 1Y, 2Y of updates, but 3Y still shows the normal price when put into basket. Is this expected?
