Reinstall Safari Extension

I’m still using 3.9.15 and I can’t seem to get the extension to work in Tahoe either. I’ve resorted to just dragging URLs from Safari into the appropriate group.

As has been mentioned, it’s not a good idea to upgrade to the .0 release of an operating system. Tahoe is definitely buggy, not just in this regards. We are investigating if there’s anything we can do to keep the extension from being evicted.

Yeah, I realize that, but I always get excited to try it out. I figure you guys will get DT sorted out (you always do) and I’ll eventually have to upgrade to v4 anyway.

Understood and eventually, we will.

For what it’s worth I have installed the .0.1 update of Tahoe released today and the Safari extension is back. We will see if it sticks.

Hmmm. The update to 26.0.1 completely removed my DEVONthink extension. Where do I download it again? I don’t see it on the DEVONtechnologies | Apps page.

It is part of DT. I suggest going up the thread and reading there again.

Download the app again and install. No need to remove the old installation.

Confirmed here. It’s back in Safari’s Extensions settings and just needs to be re-enabled. I didn’t need to do the dance with overwriting the DT app.

The extension has now “survived” a restart also.

The patience and diligence from all parties involved here is very appreciated.

I do and just realized I can’t uncheck it.

See here. Apple Notes cannot share/clip to DT - #6 by bjornivarsson

The strange behavior is back.

One more thing on this. I have started using Chrome because the extension works as it should. The rss readers (Classic Reeder & News Explorer) I’m using somehow depend on the Safari extension I think. Sometimes I can share directly from the rss readers to DT and sometime I cannot. I now noticed that the Safari extension works again. It feels like this bug (or these bugs) “act up” depending on the weather

Yes, it is very inconsistent.

(this is a very long thread). No Safari extension for me as well. Reinstalling DT didn’t change anything. And now?

See this blog post…

Also, we hopefully have this addressed for the next maintenance release.

Late to this thread, as I assumed it was just me (DTP 4.1 on 26.0.1 with Safari 26.0.1 (21622.1.22.11.15).

Nothing I can do gets the Clip extension to stay in the toolbar after any kind of relaunch or reboot.

Contemplating using the ‘Clip to DEVONthink’ JS routine until there is a fix - unless anyone has a better idea, please  .

TIA…

I outlined multiple suggestion in the blog post.

I just updated to DT 4.1.1 and now the Safari Extension is back. Hopefully it stays
